I have recently purchased a r1200gs and have rang a bmw place in alton to book a service. I have been quoted £502 for a 24, 000 mile service with brake fluid change, oh yeah and that is with an apparent 25% discount because it is more than 4 yrs old. £391 without fluid change. Seems a bit steep to me. My van only comes in around £200. Anyone else think that is a bit trumpy. I cant seem to find alternative garage bmw approved in my area, newbury, berks

Drop Steptoe or Motoscot on here a message, you really won't go far wrong with either of them.

I have a BMW dealer 10 mins away from me, i always head out to these guys in preference .

What year is your GS? Does it have the servo brakes?

If you don't mind a bit of a trip then Motoscot near Luton is well worth it. Steve Grover is a very experienced technician and knows the bikes inside out and it will be serviced properly, and at a much better price than the quote you have had.
