Just got stiffed !

£185 a year fully comp?.... its Great up North!

Just changed my insurance over to the new steed. I feel like Ive been bent over the workbench and stiffed up the anal passage £102 extra for the new bike ?? Don’t it just make your blood boil ? Makes a total of £327 for the year.

I bet a large chunk of that £102 is an admin fee for making a change mid term.

I remember paying £365 a year for insurance on my new BMW way back in 1980.

A pound a day 39 years ago seemed good value at the time. So 89 pence a day in 2019 seems an absolute bargain.

Mine was £335 TPFT for my kettle. Didn't help that I had been banned a few times beforehand...

I pay £1.5k in Hertfordshire garaged so I'd take your quote like it was gift.

Jeez thats more than my 27yr old eldest paid for his first cars insurance and we thought that was steep at near on 1K

For a car worth £250 !!!

Del my Exclusive 1250 was £208 fully Comp and that’s with a 2 month ban for sp50 I cant divulge the speed though.
As Gazuk mentioned I wonder what the admin charge was. Enjoy the new bike mate.

Yeah thanks, i will just have to suck it up this year and get a better deal next year. Too much hassle changing three months into a new policy so will forget about it till next March when its due for renewal.

Best way to do it Delboy and to enjoy what you have now.

A fresh quote for me on an 18 plate GS was £2.2k - R1250 was as near as makes no difference the same.

Thing is I’ve worked nonstop for the past 40+ years and can afford it, so why not?

That’s not to say it doesn’t hurt like hell...

Mmmmm.....so this got me thinking. At what price of insurance would I say forget it? And of course this is a relative question, but it’s also a value point. “How much enjoyment do I get from this to warrant paying that.” I know it wouldn’t be £1.5k, but how much? What is the value point? It’s interesting how I’m ok to blow 18k on a bike; on a physical object, but how the running of it is a potential game changer. And of course would I get a lesser bike to increase the value point? Sliding scale I know for everyone. :D

Doesn’t sound to bad to me, especially as the GS is worth about 3 times the value of your old bike :nenau

My policy originally cost £225 fully comp PNCB excess £175, it started on 22nd March on the 17 plate GSXS1000F. Had to pay extra £102 for the remaining 282 days. Im with Bennetts.

Bennetts will have charged you a £32 admin fee despite selling you a dearer policy.

Carol Nash charge £40 for a change in policy details. Last year I wanted to change my annual mileage limit from 6000mpa to 7000mpa. CN wanted to charge me c. £41.00. I asked them how much the insurance company wanted for the change. The answer was "45 pence". The rest was CN's admin fee. After much negotiation it was reduced to £25!

Just looked it up £32 charge for mid term adjustment ! So only £70 extra for a bike that was double the value of my previous one. Nothing else changed just the bike.
