As some of you may know, I was seriously looking to buy a HP2 and had chased several possibles.
I found a brand new one at Jacksons in Jersey which they had had in stock for several months but was priced at full price of around £11,000 (net of VAT). I was pleased to find a genuine new bike as every other "new" bike had been either a demonstrator or previously registered. I asked the dealer in the summer how much they would accept for a cash deal with no PX etc. They replied "the full list price as we don't discount". I explained that UK dealers were selling delivery mileage bikes for £9,500 including VAT but they were not interested.
I visited them again a couple of months ago and bike was still gathering dust in their showroom amongst the BMW and Merc cars. I looked over the bike for ages and was keen to buy it if they would move a bit on price. Unfortunately, the sales staff could not even be bothered to get off their fat arses to walk from their desks to the bike area. Eventually I gave up on them as I couldn't find anyone in the place who knew anything about bikes as they were all car salesmen only.
I went back last week and was surprised to see bike had gone. A friend of mine had gone in and offered them £6,500 and they took it! They were so desperate to get rid of the damn thing before the end of the year that they sold it at a significant loss (complete with spare wheels).
Rather pissed off that I missed it at that price.
I hear that they are very shortly to lose the bike franchise as they are the most useless BMW bike dealers on earth.
