The simplest ideas are usually the best :thumb

How many look and think 'I wish I'd thought of that' ;)

I have a section of cut down aluminium crutch that serves a similar purpose, albeit usually for the front of the bike (although it works on swingarms in this way for bikes without centrestands). Fabrication/modification took me about an hour. Refurbished single crutch (enough to make two) cost me about £10 delivered on ebay.

It works well enough that until I got my hydraulic jack, it used to be the main way I'd jack up a bike, even when in the garage.

Been using a homemade version of this for the last 15 years for various sports bikes, made from a bit of Unistrut welded to a bit of flat bar with a 12mm rawl bolt bolted through it.
Worked a treat :flag

Was impressed until I read this bit:

"Chain maintenance requires special equipment and must be done often."

Special equipment? Purlease!

The last line made I larf!

Your girlfriend pushing your crotch rocket down the back alley while you chase her with a can of aerosol lube just doesn't cut it anymore

actually and sentance including 'girlfriend', 'back alley' and 'lube' does it to me any time:D

this: http://www.packjack.ca/ which seems a neat idea. Won't replace a centre stand / paddock stand. Whether the side stand will be up to it though

I got one of these this week and certainly recommend it and the seller.:thumb

Exchanged a few emails with the owner/maker of the packjack and he sent me an updated " do it all " version. Only took a week or so to arrive and I tried it today.

Bit daunting using on the lardy Varadero 1000 for the first time but it worked great.

Never be as good as a centre stand but its ideal for cleaning and lubing the chain.

Total cost was £33 delivered.:beerjug:
