Hi guys, this is not a technical thing.
This is just to thank you all for this forum and for the effort that each of you makes on all this. I rode a bike since I was very young back in Italy and when I came to England I was completely lost: where to buy a bike, where to by spares? Where to service it? Even the smallest problem in a foreign country becomes huge: you know that because many of you rode abroad.
You rescued my bike-passion (that I thought would have died in England) and helped me no-end

So, sorry for this cheesy stuff and keep going!

Welcome to the mad-house!!!!!

I'm off to Sardinia later on this year; whilst it's primarily a diving holiday, I would be interested in hiring a bike & getting arond the island.

Any suggestions on hiring/routes would be gratefully received!

If you are flying to Alghero from Stansted (ryanair) the BMW dealer is 20 minutes away from the airport by cab (driver’s gonna rip you off).
If you are flying to Cagliari-Elmas from Luton (volareweb) the dealer is 3 minutes away. I’m pretty sure they both rent bikes, if you let me know where you are flying to I’ll call them and ask for prices/arrange rent for you.
I’ve been underwater fishing since I was 10, especially in southern Sardinia (wild and dodgy), never done it in northern Sardinia (posh and busy). E-mail me at [email protected] I’ll tell you more.

Top tip: if you go in August, leave your leathers home – many tourists die everyday ‘cos they faint

Coupla good diving holidays there 'bout 15 years ago (15yrs, feck )

Whereabouts you going Ralphy - there's (was) some good diving in the North when we went (wrecks - ancient & WWII, sub!, amphora, reefs, eels).

whilst I've got the dates booked (25th Sep - 2nd Oct), I don't know where we are staying or diving yet (the guy who is organising it is on a dive trip to Sulawasi at the moment).

I'll post again when I know more.
