Just travel cover.

As said many a time on here, make sure you are covered for over 125cc. Small print etc.

I wrote this is my Travel Insurance thread:

"Further update after a recommendation for Allclear popped up elsewhere. I had heard that they no longer cover bikes but this seems to only apply to the Silver level cover. Gold cover as in this PDF is okay, underwritten by a decent name, Zurich, and Allclear have a great reputation. https://www.allcleartravel.co.uk/images/alc/AllClear_Options_Policy_Booklet_G.pdf

Prices once through the medical stuff are fine with lots of options on gold, gold + etc and for me, a decent discount for excluding cancellation. I rarely prepay for anything other than a ferry so not needed. Most ferry/tunnel bookings can be altered for a lower fee than any policy excess.

If the 25% Topcashback comes through that will be even better."

Make sure you are actually getting what you want.
Are you after cover for RENTING a motorcycle?
Are you after cover for your OWN motorcycle?
The first then check the small print.
The second then you are covered as it is your PRINCIPAL MODE OF TRANSPORT in the same way they cover you in your car.
That's direct. from an insurance underwriter.

When living and working in West Germany in the late 70's, my bike was insured through ADAC.
Is it possible to get cover for the EU through an EU travel insurance company?

Just wondering....!

I believe ADAC no longer offer that unless you are resident in the EU.

This also ties into articles in the bike press by the chap from White Dalton solicitors saying that dealing with EU insurers from the UK has become more complex since Brexit. The UK is no longer party to the cross border arrangements they enjoy in the EU such as a French underwriter needing to offer a translator. He has given examples of people waiting a very long time for third party claims against EU drivers to complete. This is especially the case if the underwriter involved does not have any presence in the UK. Best to ensure if you are going to be taken out by a French driver that they are insured by Axa, Allianz or Ageas who have offices in the UK.

My gut feeling is that an EU travel insurance broker will say, "non." I would also suspect that if you had to make a claim via Pierre in a call centre in Lyon it is not going to be a pleasant experience unless you are fluent in French and used to their bureaucracy.

Don't MAG offer a travel insurance policy for bikers to their members?

They (MAG) will be the arseholes who sold a useless policy to my friend, for his solo trip on his 750 VFR to America. We ended up suing them. They paid, heavily.

By bikers, for bikers. Inept cnuts.
