Justify a 13K bike

I just come into a bit of money a small pension, but I'm not going to pay the finance off on the bike I'm going to buy my young lady a nice ring and have some quality holidays this year on and off the bike, I can afford the monthly payment for the bike so feck it I'm going to enjoy the spare cash horses for courses blah! blagh!.

My bike may be old** but its in front of you and it's and paid for.

**Actually its an 08 so quite young really.

With all the commissions and other overheads, repaying loans early probably often wont save very much.

As for living beyond our means, UK has been doing that for years and its getting ever worse. No politician can do anything about it because the only real remedies would be so unpopular they would never get voted back.

Never thought of this before - but it's true for me at least.

Bike is being MoT'd today.

It should pass but you never know - either way it is my bike not a finance company's. If it fails it will end up at a well known independent specialist in Putney to get fixed and back on the road. The thought of trading it and getting rid of MY bike just gives me a nose bleed.
