Bit of a review on the K1 by Classic Motorbikes.
Cheers Mike. I've book marked that.
Only one real quibble and that's the claimed fuel range of "some owners". Oh and the featured bike could do with a clean.![]()

I doubt that you'll be able to source my next update - lowered footpegs.
Sherlocks broke a K1 recently and it had modified pegs. A bit home-made but after some judicial angle-grinding, filing and new paint, they look reasonable and will be going on the bike for a try-out soon.
Just about two inches lower should make hoiking my feet up to the pegs that much less troublesome. It remains to be seen how far from the rear brake that puts the offside one but as I don't use the back brake after the initial dab to put the warning light out, it may not be much of a problem.
If they work, I may even go into production. Half-a-dozen pairs should satisfy worldwide demand.
PS If you want me to collect your tank-bag from Ocean just say so and I'll store it until you come down one fine day to sort the hazard switch, fit the replacement throttle housing I have here and we can add the tank-bag clips to the tank.

Surely the K1 like the all the other BMW's of the time had a dry clutch and a shaft drive. Not what the specs indicate at the end of the article so I must be wrong.

They're starting to come out of the woodwork.
