How they expect you to ride out with only one arm and one leg is beyond me...

Did you not get your coffee ? :nenau

I thought I'd read, I think in a text message, that for €200 they'd sell new tyres fitted ?

...................€40 FOR A SET OF TYRES ???

Sounds like they're charging you the standard hourly rate they'd charge for for any service work?

Heard Duffys are charging a recessionary rate of €300 fitted and balanced for a pair of tourances which ain't too bad(that's tyres included:thumb2)

My experience of Kearys was last July

I think I got charged 90 euro for fitting two tyres that I brought into Keary's about 2 months ago.

I'm pretty cheap though - so I thought even that was too much.

You saved €70 but will you have the same level of grip?

Looking at it another way anyone paying that for tyre ftting needs to get a grip.

Morocco Tyre Change

We changed tyres in Spain on the way into Morocco last year, piece of cake in the camsite, broke the bead with a VW van. Poor English camper was amazed.."You want me to drive over your tyre???" but very helpfull. Yes, that is the lads using petrol to blow the tyre up onto the bead.....:augie

Drop down to Spain next time and we will change your tyres for a bottle of San Miguel!

But off road tyres can only cope with so much.....

Crossans Newry

Just back from the nice people in Newry with two new Metzeler Tourance fitted and balanced to loose rims, £168 for the pair and £170 in total fitted!! I'm not great at maths but I reckon thats £1 per tyre fitted!!:thumb2

Now off to the Alps to treat these tyres with the contempt they deserve!

I bought a pair of tourances from Crossans in Newry also. £168 for the pair. They couriered them down to me (no extra charge) they were with me the next morning within 24 hours. I took both wheels of - in five minutes, took them to my nearest car fitting tyre centre - 'excuse me Mr. Man do you do bike wheels', 'yeah no problem, dont balance them though'......'how much' '10 euro for both'.

I read the paper for half hour.

Both wheels back on in ten minutes also checked brake pads and greased front axel whilst at it.

Easy peasy total cost - £168 pounds = 180 euro plus 10 changing - zero petrol cost, zero travelling time.

Crossans do a great service.

Havent balanced the wheels yet but I don't notice any difference in teh ride, front bars maybe a smidge buzzier at high speeds. But maybe thats me being over analytical because I know I haven't balanced them.

Still reasonable outlay for a new set of tyres.
