Kelso Bikefest

Young Mr Cameron will be away in Spain I believe.
Will you be taking the camping van this year, or are you actually turning up on a bike? :D
I sold the Campervan last week - got £5k for it which was £2k more than I paid. Looks like it may be a tent with the plebs....

Unfortunately, all you plebeians who aint got tickets for the inner sanctum will have to use the stoney public campsite, where people have been known to snore !
Members of 'the dark side forum club thing', who have tickets (when they come) have access to camp on the lush, flat as a billiard table specially cushioned lawn of the exhibitors arena, where heat lamps gently play upon the tents during the chilly evenings.
And I suppose we are insured against attacks by wild hairy haggis while sleeping.

Ye see, there is advantages in conforming.

Very dissapointed.

I arrived early friday evening with a group of my friends, we pitched our tents had a chat with a few of the guys who were camping round our bit (who were all sound guys) and then we went for a few beers.
Later in the evening after many  we all got a bit rowdy and commited the ultimate crime, yes we revved the bikes up and done a few burnouts. Quite a few other groups of people were doing this, and although It can keep people awake ITS A FCUKING BIKE RALLY what do you expect, anyway a few marshals came over and asked us to stop, which we did and we also apologised to the marshalls for making to much noise.
The next again evening we were approched by the head of security, who told us to keep the noise down tonight. I said we would and no one in our group will start their bike this evening. The guy seemed to get very angry by this :nenau . He threw his radio on the ground and tore his orange bib off and squared up to us, saying that he could take us all on at once :ymca . I explained to him we are not here for any trouble and no one will start their bikes tonight. He responded by telling us that he had 30 guys who were willing to back him up, wreck our bikes and our tents and kick our heads in. He then walked away, saying to the youngest member off our group that he should watch his back, as he has slashed 20 guys in the last 2 years.

Now I don't know about you guys, but I sort of expect a few bike being revved up at bike rallys. I would also never expect a staff member to act this way at an orginised event. Sure we were in the wrong, but we never once tried to deny it. I think this guy was just trying to scare everyone, but he took it too far. The young guy that was threatened with being slashed was really scared, this was his first rally. He ended up packing his things and going home. All over some harmless fun.

Anyway apart from this I enjoyed the show. We met some real characters and had a great laugh, but it is doubtfull If we will return next year.

The Security guy sounds a right twat. If he was nuts enough to have slashed twenty guys, WTF was he doing marshalling at a bike rally :nenau He should be minding for some top gangster. He's lucky, some of your group didn't drop him when he tore his bib off (and threw his dummy to the ground)

Arsehole. Report the fuker to Pete Appleby (Pragmatix) :thumb

Strange we all had a loverly, time.... mind you we weren't camped with the plebs (as Den puts it) and a few of our group did have a snoring competition... but as I always say.. nothing like a pair of earplugs and a good gallon of ale to cut out the noise... :D :D

For a start these two had a cracking time on the beaches and byways of the Borders...

A great event. Made even better by the catering, booze etc

Our off road ride out led by Forry was the best GS ride out I've done, mainly down to, the company, just the 4 of us riding as one , the weather, the roads, tracks and lanes. oh and Forry's reading of the tide tables over to Holy Island.....only 12 months too early :D

I've spent all day stripping my bike and cleaning the salt out of it :D

My dirty Bike.

Mr Yodagoat. Never mind stabby Joe .... I would have strangled ye if I knew it was you and yer cronies who were trying to wake up the nice people of Kelso at three oclock in the mornin. Rather childish and immature methinks.
Nice photo, 9th one down. did you give her a fright.

Nice weekend.

She did seem a bit miffed when I took the photo.

I bet the good people of kelso didn't mind the extra money brough in though, there were loads of other folk revving their bikes well later than we were. Just not to many people with green hair I guess. Home made target.
There was loads of burnouts etc all night last year, no one seemed to complain then. :nenau
Kelso seems to have turned a bit :ymca

Probably ban bikes from the campsite next year, and smiling. :rob
