Is it possible to turn one off by accidently pushing keys? one has just stopped working for no apparent reason at all.

Pretty positive that the answer would be NO, unplug ti and plug back in. If that is no good, keep the power button pressed and restart.

I am by no means a computer expert, quite the opposite in fact, but I can disable my keyboard on my 'Acer' by using the function key and F7 together.

I only discovered this by accident - the first time it happened to me I was in panic and could not fathom it out, I thought the thing had broken on me!
