Its £1.60 a pint here!Looking good pal. Looks as though you are having a great trip.
Taking on board your recommendation I am now in Sibiu, old town to be precise. Gorgeous large piazzas
You're only 85 miles from here and he's there for a few months..... Transalpina was lovely: hardly a straight bit of road anywhere...
Apologies in advance. We'll we're here. A 9 day drive from UK to Romania via France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia we made it to our off-grid cabin in Transylvania today. Had no problems at any borders with regards to COVID stuff, never asked once for COVID docs. Did have a 30 minute delay at Serbia/Romanian border. After seeing my UK passport and my wife's French passport, my UK driving license and our V5 doc we got asked to wait for the customs man. He came after 20 minutes and asked if we were Ukrainian as our van had UK on the reg plate and a UK sticker on the back. It took him 30 seconds to realise the passport lady was a bit over cautious and let us through. Now here we have 3 months of peace at the top of our hill in the forest. The batteries and solar panels were fine after the winter and we had lights and the big fridge going in the cabin tonight. Tomorrow I'll fill the solar water tank on the roof from our soft water tanks full of rainwater and maybe we'll have hot showers in the cabin tomorrow night. Cheers Kev & Liz

I'm in Sibiu at the moment
Paul G BHT said you weren't far from here.
I'm not good at inviting myself to places / people I don't know but do you fancy a Scot visiting for one Night?
I'm house trained.
Saying no isn't a problem as I'll head west tomorrow.

Read my update Andy!Don’t forget that in Sibiu you’re close to both the Transfagarasen and Transalpina passes and not to do at least one could be considered to be a bit of a bad miss. The Transalpina normally opens 31st May so there’s no excuse.
Transfargarasen still closed.Read my update Andy!
I rode the Transalpina this morning, brilliant!

If it works great, if it doesn't no problem.

Did you follow it right through to Sebes (or start from there) because that’s a good ride as well.

No beer till the bike is parked!Did you stop for a beer in the bar on that little bit of road that links both sections of the 67C? The second year I was there it was a scorching hot day so I stopped to rehydrate the best way known to man![]()

I'm heading to Zakopane Poland tomorrow. Ukraine is now off my list!I stopped for one night on Satu Mare with the plan being to cross into Ukraine the next day but I got a bit suspicious when they wouldn’t sell me insurance at the border and me to go to a post office so I stayed in Romania. The next night I was in Poland with half an idea to go into Belarus, couldn’t get a visa so went to Lithuania instead![]()
