Well I'm ready

Bit early i know but i had an operation on my toe Friday and it took 4 weeks to get over it last time so i thought id better get it ready before the op rather than after and theres only 4 weeks to go now .

anyone reckon my 1150GSA with TKC's on would cope?

I used to trials ride as a kid, do some local green laning now and will be in cheshire looning around for the weekend camping with overlander trail tours, and riding off road through the sierra nevada (yam 250's) for four days a week before the kielder event...

Pipe dream or will i just smash me and my bike up?

Yes mate you should get round Its wot the bike was made for.

A few years ago there ware plenty of GS/GSA's out there doing rallys, The first rally i did was the Cambrian on one back in 05 (i think) with TKC's and that was one of the wettest events i have ever done (in October)

There is a chance you may damage it but you have crash bars i also fitted a baglux tank cover and a headlight cover.

Great news - the overlander trail tour weekend is all done on the big GS's this weekend and we went over some serious tracks without (too) many serious issues.

Never knew this event even existed. Wow looks great now i've read through everything.

I presume my bike just has the numbers dropped onto it and everything else can be left alone - my exhaust is aftermarket laser but not loud?

Yes chap you might want to remove the screen as well but if you were happy with it on the O/L Weekend

Which class do you think i should enter - struggling to find the info - just a billy basics one to start me off on i reckon - 1150GSA on TKC - total amateur just to be safe... is that called 040 or something?

Rally route should do you, The 040 should be the age group as in over 40 years old, It is a little confusing on there site

"Rally route" should do you for class.

"Grade" put yourself down as "Trail" or "Rally"

I'd go rally class and take the easier route on the day.

I spoke to the Sec'y when I entered, the Rally Plus route has some harder enduro type loops in it for the guys on genuine enduro bikes that want something a bit more challenging.

thanks for all the replies.
When i went to enter the website entry form only gives me one option from the list - 050, 040, Rally, Rally Plus, etc...

if i tick 040 will i then have the option of rally or rally plus?
DOnt want to feck it up as there isnt a help section and the phone nos dont work...
