Not many GSs at Knockhill this evening. In fact, just me :)

And 2 or 3 dozen race reps. 1 Aprilia. 1 KTM. So the burbling twins were drowned out by the screaming rice rockets.

Was booked last summer but Knockhill was fog bound that evening so today I was using my credit voucher. My lad rolled up too on his S1000RR.

I got about 55 laps in - 72 miles - during the 2 hour open session. Everyone was pretty well behaved and I was pleasantly surprised how well the GS handled. On it's recently fitted Dunlop Sportmax tyres.

I ride like a granny (sort of) so I did enjoy a couple of passes along the way.

And I chuckled when my boot actually touched down on my last lap when dropping in to Duffus Dip. The Zumo told me I only reached a max of 104 and don't ask me about lap times.

I even did 5 laps on the S1000 but quite frankly it was wasted on me. In third gear all the way round except the hairpin I was just hanging on when I pressed the GO button. Good brakes though. But so were my GS servo brakes. Usually I was braking less and later than the slower riders. The fast guys were off in the distance of course.

All in all a good session. Thoroughly recommended. Stayed dry and only got a bit damp on ride home. :thumb2

glad you enjoyed..but...............

'But so were my GS servo brakes'

mines do not inspire confidence at all - in fact ended up once with front wheel inside a pelican crossing area unintentionally - I find they do not work immediately - it's brain seems to need to realise what instruction is being given.
Give me my good old direct brakes anytime that second IS valuable :rob

aye Mike ...............

by the time my brain realises that I had braked I then wonder why the heck i'm still not stopped lol.

Na , one is still razor sharp mate - it's the bike that needs teaching :thumb

Some Pics Showed up

Sorry about the quality, but David Bailey wasn't free. Any snaps were a bonus. Was getting pretty dull by 8pm. All in all it was a great evening :thumb2

And I've acquired something else that may be more suited to track work for next time :)

Just acquired something more appropriate for next time

. . . couldn't resist when it popped up recently. Collect in 2 weeks. 1 careful owner. Bog standard. Never raced or rallied. Or dropped :)
