A friend is buying a new KTM Adventure and wants some help from me to install:
(a) Garmin GPS - so that's just a power lead, to an ignition switched feed.
(b) Starcom box - not particularly large - and requires ignition switched power
(c) Something called an Inforad GPS based speed camera detector - not particularly large - and requires ignition switched power
(d) Maybe a Kenwood bike-to-bike radio - a bit chunky - and requires ignition switched power
He is buying an ABS version which means, I hear, that much of the under seat area is taken up with a box of gizmo's for the ABS brain.
From pictures I can see that there is a power outlet (Din socket) on the clock surround. I assume this is fused and switched via the ignition? He wants to leave the socket itself free for quote, "Other things".
Questions:
Are there, like the 1200 GS, any additional power sockets / spare leads to tap into / use?
If not, where do most people tap into for a switched power supply?
Any useful cubbyholes around the bike to stuff the Starcom, the Inforad and a Kenwood radio?
Any help, ideas, pic's etc. greatly appreciated.
Richard
