L&C Tunbridge Wells

Funny thing, bought my first GS [an 1100] from L&C in '96. Guy in charge then was Steve someone with Andy as right hand man. Remember Andy as someone who said he would do something - & didn't. Steve was a bit dodgy and just upped and vanished a year later BUT I got a cracking deal with top box and luggage thrown in!!
Mechanics new what they were doing [ I think they did anyway]. So I for one will have a moment of silence at their demise as they were the folk who got me on the GS trail and all the great times that have ensued!!

Bye bye and thanks L&C....I will miss you and the memories!!:tears

I got the letter this morning

I wonder who's buying them out?

BMW Technician

I had to smile when I received my letter from L&C saying they were ceasing to deal in bikes.

I hope the flood of customers (well, perhaps flood is exaggeratign a little) to Premier and other SE dealers wonl;t result in them becoming either overbooked or equally blasé about oru business.

I've always been impressed with the quality of mechanic-ing at L&C - it's only the customer service and attitude I've had problems with. The obvious answer would be for the techie(s) to transfer to the next nearest dealer, but that may not be what they want to do. Either way, I'd also be very interested in using the same technician through a different dealr. As I'm only 3 months into my 2 year warranty, though, I'd still have to use an authorised dealer for servicing and any warranty work. Another con, but a different story and BMW aren't alone in this one.)

Robin.
