Badly needed a spin on the bike this weekend to clear my head so with one mate in tow we headed up to the Lakes yesterday lunchtime. After a drenching over Snake pass and the Pennines we sort of dried out by the time we got to Windermere. By the time though we'd gone over Wrynose and hardknott we'd had another soaking.

We'd booked a B&B in Boot, which is just at the far side of the Hardknott pass, called the Dale View and I highly recommend it. The place is spotless and very tastfully done out with varnished wooden floors and plain walls. No seventies floral wallpaper in sight! The other big advantage the place has is that it's over the road from the Boot Inn. After 5 hours hard at it I can, with some confidence, tell you that the Jennings on last night was in fine condition!

They even laid on a rainbow for us when we got there.

Sundays ride home

Up at the crack of 9 to discover that my head was nothing like as sore as it should have been after the 5 hours the night before. Thats quality beer for you. No hangover. Weather was much better so it was back up Hardknott. Here's a few pictures form up there.

This ones just at the start..

Got home at about 4 this afternoon. 430 miles in a couple of days so nothing too hard but great fun. The hour and a half cleaning the crap of my bike wasn't as much fun when I got back though.
