I swapped the standard low beam headlight about 2 months after geting the bike from new with a PIAA Xtreme White Plus H7 and have been pretty pleased with the results. Now 5 months later I just got a LAMPF warning light. Apart from that everything is peachy.

I'm guessing its a warning about light power issues/fluctuations and I could just put the original bulb back in but before I do I wonder if anyone could explain to me what the LAMPF error is saying and what it means under these circumstances? I'm scared of the dark so don't ride much at night :) , so its not biggie to just swap them again. But the H7 is a very good 110W from a 55W pull. I expected the life of it to be about half as long as the standard bulb rather than give me any grief.

Cheers.

Hi, when I got that warning up it was simply that the dip beam had blown. Quick bulb change put it right. Hope your problem is as simple
cheers Ian

Been running the PIAA Extreme White bulbs both for dip and main for the past 18 months. No problems at all, big improvement (halfway to HID?), no warnings or blows.

Even fitted them in the car - expensive but worth it.

Thanks.

The H7 dipped beam bulb finally gave in. Strange though because LAMPF appeared before it went. I guess the GS is cleverier than I thought :)

BUT, I did only get just over 2000 miles from the bulb. That''s not good at £27 a throw ...

Let them know at PIAA I belive they are very good with customer service.

I get that at least once a week from the rear lamp, could be that it is the LED unit. Tells me the lamp is dead but it never is, now i have the GS-911 thingie i just reset the puter:D
PS: told the dealer each time the bike has been in and they just reset the computer too.

Thanks.

Have you got the PowerSport bulbs (serial HE310SE) which are a more sturdy filament build especially for bikes?

Just a thought.

Andy

Yes Andy. I particularly picked this one up because its supposed to be more resistant to vibration. I was very careful installing it too not to touch the bulb.

I'll try PIAA and see if they'll replace it.
