I'm sure we've all done it...

Had a few glasses of wine and put a stupid bid in before going to bed.

Checked computer in morning and noticed the "You need to leave feedback".

I'd won a selection of airhead spares for a total of 99p. I paid up via Paypal and half expected the seller to tell me to go forth but instead he was very polite and pleasant and simply asked me when I was going to collect it all as it was impossible post as it was too much. Then I had to look up to see where Hatfield was.:( Luckily, I was taking my son Martin back to Uni in Brighton so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Turned up at the sellers house at midday Sunday and he led me to his shed at the bottom of his garden. It was tiny shed that just had room for an immaculate R100S that he had restored. He is Polish and takes the bits back to Poland to have bits done at fraction of prices in UK. He told me to help myself to anything I wanted that was surplus to his requirements.
So I started with three RT fairings complete with all the inner panels and mounting frame.:)
Found asetof fairing lowers that are in better condition than any I had before.
Next I found a complete rear light unit with perfect wiring (this has been fitted to Trigger today to replace the one with dodgy wiring).
I managed to find room for a frame for a R80/7 which also came with perfect rear subframe (unlike all my previous ones, this one comes with seatlock and all the small tabs for the side panels all intact!
He then threw in a seat.
A couple of sets of handlebars followed.
By this time I physically couldn't fit anything else in my car so I had to stop.
I gave him an extra £20 as I felt so guilty but he wanted me to take more stuff.

Here's a photo of the stuff in my workshop:

Do you want to come down to Weymouth and take away another fairing?

Can do.:)

Will be passing that way on Saturday morning on way to Hograost so could pick it up then. PM me your contact details and I'll be in touch.:)

Luckily I have more than enough space in the workshop to store all these airhead spares and recondition them in my spare time. I now have the choice with my R80/7 of having it naked, as a RT or as a RS.:) Three different bikes on one base.:)

'sfcuk-all :augie

I got pissed on holiday, went on e-bay - and narrowly missed being the winner in an auction for another bike (which I had no need for):blast

I only missed it cos my bidnapper bid - was less than the required increment to win

Al :D

Use to live in Cumberland Rd.:D

Small world, I live in Amity Street :thumb2
I used to drive the old green Landrover. If you lived here after about '93 you may have seen it.
First crack house in Reading at the top of the road, according to PC Darling:D

...I used to rent a room on Upper Crown Street...

I moved out when I saw from a long distance (...very long...and I wasnt wearing my glasses...did I mention very long...??) a very tall and elegant women leaving the house...When I asked the Land-lady who it was she replied.. "Oh ...That was Steve, the security Guard who lives in the first room...He's just trying on the dress that he asked me to buy..."...

...I moved out the next month I think...

I remember going into the "Battle Inn" on Reading road (only once..) with a fellow Irish lodger (..and his very pretty missus...)...and he said "..Dont come in here on your own...You're English...this is an IRA bar....)

...and the couple who lived on the top floor room...He was pushing 60...and I think she was pushing 17 - no joke...I used to see her wandering the streets at 6am in the morning, usually drugged out of her mind...and then hearing the banging and crashed on the ensuing argument the following evening...

Oh Happy days!

I spent two years at Art College in Reading just down from Cemetry junction -this was in the late seventies. Great fun at the time but I left the druggies to it and just used alcohol and Rothman's kingsize.
