Latest GSA - Blown away!

It'd be good to see you, Bob. Shall I book you a test ride....? :D
I'll let you know if I'm going to be in the area any time soon so you can put the kettle on, but for now I think I'll settle for somewhere a bit nearer home such as Southport or Manchester :rolllaugh

Loving it!

I picked up my new GSA today (dealer opened on a Sunday - puts customers before staff ;-) ) and I have been 100% delighted with it. For a big bike it is unbelievably nimble and light. Did about 100 miles on mostly country roads and was a very happy bunny. Gearbox was perfect - no clonking - even into first and I couldn't fault it. Definitely prefer it to the GS which I did about 4,000 miles on last year.
Only slight gripe is that the wind shield doesn't do it's job well enough for my height (6'2") but I was advised by another Tosser to get the Touratech clip on shield which apparently makes all the difference.

I own a car dealership and will never open on a Sunday. It is a commitment to my own ethics; part of which is motivated by the belief that if you can't make enough to do you in 6 days you're either greedy or just not very good at business. More importantly the guys who work with/for me are massively important to me and I would rather they got some time off and spent it with their families than be slaves to modern demands for consumption. So, am sure the staff at the dealership you visited aren't massively concerned they weren't present to offer sir a test-ride. Maybe cut them some slack and visit on a week night or one of your days off?
I'm fortunate in that I've recently retired, so can visit the dealers when I wish. Today I was at a loose end and it was a good time to pay them a visit, and yes, I should have checked if they were open first, but as I said, in these parts most, if not all dealerships, are open 7 days a week so was suprised when I found Jeffries shut. Afterall, the majority of people work during the week and I would have thought Sunday would have been a busy day for dealerships. I wouldn't like to see anybody enslaved in their jobs, but I'm sure a fair employer could ensure a good work-life balance for their employees and open on Sundays if there was a demand for the service.
It's no skin off my nose, I still had a good day out, slightly disappointed that Jeffries was shut, but I've now got a good excuse to have a ride-out to another dealer next time I'm free. ;)

GLW your new bike - but should this really be necessary.

Why cant they get the wind protection right, instead of having to go out and spend more money when people have already shelled out enough - imho of course!

Touratech clip on shield is excellent mate...makes a world of difference to me and I'm 6.4. I can ride with my helmet open

Must Say I took my TC GSA out yesterday having test rode the WC GSA on Saturday , of which I was very impressed . My Old GSA screen is Far better than the new GSA screen , no flapping about just smooth air free travel . I loved the new Bike , but doing the same test ride circuit on my own bike made me realise how good the TC is . I'm certainly not having a go at the new GSA , I'd love one , but the screen should be sorted from new , it flapped about like the screen on my old C600 Scoot !!

It flaps a bit so that it can constantly redistribute the air.:rob:P

I've tested my GSA screen at 120mph (obviously on a private road/ airfield/ track:D), and it stayed on, without cracking or snapping.:thumb

You're completely right about this. The screen on my old GSA TC was much more effective than the screen on my new GSA LC. Also, the new GSA is materially wider than the old GSA TC, and if you spend much time in traffic (who doesn't, in the UK these days) then you soon notice the extra width. Those two points aside, the LC is the better machine, for me - mainly because of the increased power. They appear to have sorted the gearbox/clutch issues at last, and the heavier flywheel makes a surprising amount of difference.
