Laugh at me time.....

You're not the first person to end up with an 1150 in a strange position...

Mr Tickle :D

If this were in the WC section then BMW assist would be the best call. As its in 1150 section just leave it till erosion has eaten away the surrounding landscape, say a million years or more then ride it away.

Borrow / steal a JCB & a couple of slings.... Failing that, dynamite the fecker :D

If you can pivot the bike over onto one foot of the centrestand you may be able to get something solid under the other leg such as a plank of wood, repeat the process on the other leg, then may be able to roll the bike off the stand?

Only time I had similar problem when I got the bike stuck in a ditch I did end up putting the bike on its side, dragging it out and then lifting it up from bar end - as others have said it is about technique not strength. Good luck!

Wish I'd seen this sooner, Uttoxeter isnt that far, I could have been round there with the GoPro before it went dark. :D
And to help, obviously.
Mark

I'm assuming you can run the engine and the bike is rideable.

The only thing I can suggest is to let some of the air out of the tyres. This should spread the load over a wider area increasing the footprint, this might give you enough traction to paddle it out.

Put a bit of board under the engine, jack the bike up whilst one holds the bike steady, lift centre stand up, then let jack down until it's back on its wheels, ride off:thumb2

THANK YOU SO MUCH - this worked. We got her off after having supper and trying again after a rest. We really did knacker ourselves trying to shove and push and grunt - we couldn't get the thing to move to even gather some momentum to roll it off. It had sat back solid with the weight almost equally spaced between the two wheels and stand, facing uphill and on loose gravel - not a good combination. So, we siphoned 25 litres out of the tank (I had just filled it in readiness for an early get away to the airport in the morning - 250 miles away, but I can do it on one tank if I fill it). With the bike a good bit lighter, the panniers and top box off, and the planks, we managed to rock her off, despite now being 1/2" higher - that 1/2" seems an awefully long way up! The handlebars were well up in the air!

Those videos are brilliant. I have been riding a motorcycle for 46 years (on the road) now, but until that off road course nobody had ever shown me how to pick a bike up - I had always just got hold and lifted, but that was back when I was playing rugby, at a reasonable level and bikes were so much lighter, or they seemed to be. That course instructor showed us to turn the front wheel so you can use the handlebar as a lever, bend knees, cup both hands under the bar and then stand up....I couldn't and my back went. I like the way the girls do it. I am going to look at the bike in the morning and see what there is to get hold of to try that walking it upright with small steps approach.

I hope others can pick up a hint or two from my experience.

Sit on it. Start it. Rev it to around 2k. Put it into gear and drop your arse on the rear of the seat and it'll ride off the stand and spray your neighbour with gravel..

I wish I had the skills to do this - but we only had about 2 feet ahead of the bike to ride in to my wife's car. Not an option. I wouldn't have the bottle to do it on an open piece of ground either. Never seen it done even, but I have seen (and photographed) plenty of mad stunts at the stunt championships! That isn't me though, I can't afford to risk the cost of repairs.

I'd have hack-sawed the center stand off.

or dug round the stand with a spade until it swung up.

By the fook; such an innocuous looking thread and it's had me pissing myself....just when I thought it safe to go in the water with the thread concluding I read ..."we had to siphon 25 litres...blah blah.." Nurse, pass the fookin mop please.

Bwahahahahahah . Priceless; the serious and the piss-take posts. :bow

I was thinking tie a rope from the bottom of the back wheel to the cross bar of the centre stand then start the engine and in first gear slip the clutch and the wheel will pull the stand back and the bike forward.
