Where? It can't go back because of the wall behind, maybe 10"...and the bike is in front, so it can't go forwards.

If it really was that obvious, I wouldn't have asked for help! I know people find it difficult to believe and I had not forseen that the bike would sink into the gravel through to the hard standing underneath - yes we swept away as much gravel as we could, but the gradient meant the bike fell back on the stand far easier than it would rock forward. Normally I put the bike on the flat concrete pad I have at the side of the drive, the car can get past then. This time it was a temporary stop, because I had been called for dinner and was going to manoevre the bike into its usual spot afterwards. It doesn't need much gradient to prevent getting it off the stand - I was heaving for all I was worth from th grab handle at the back of the seat and one handlebar - I couldn't move it an inch because I had to cam the whole weight of the bike over the top of the centre stand. Moving the loose gravel didn't provide enough extra depth either.

If you don't believe me - go and try it for yourself and find out. It is a useful learning curve. :aidan
 
I wonder how many of the laughers have done equally daft things themselves. I have. It's life, we have a laugh at ourselves and on we go.
 
It is surprising what difference a small gradient makes when parked facing uphill on the centre stand. At a B&B with a sloping driveway, I put my 1100 on its centre stand facing uphill to load up. There was no way on earth I could roll it off the stand when I came to try and leave - in the end it took three of us. I didn't do it again :)
 
I took the centre stand off my bike ages ago. I only use it for servicing so just drop it on when needed and tie it to the back wheel.
I have to be a bit more careful where I park (side sinks, bike falls over) so it concentrates the mind.
This particular problem, I'd have shovelled some gravel away.
Otherwise sell the bike on eBay. Buyer collect.
