Current situation is that I have just fitted the Lazer Pro D'or exhaust back on the bike after a number of years without.

It is running rich at present & I will try & get hold of a Co2 meter and then adjust the potentiometer

However

Just discovered that I have the "Powerchip" that comes with exhaust......never been used & am thinking of fitting it

Now the questions.

1) If fitted will the chip make the fuel/air mix leaner ?

2) How simple is it to fit the chip.....

3) I have no "Anti static" mat.....what is the next best approach ?

4) Is it a "Plug & play" scenario or will I have to reset mototronic.....by the way I have no "beige" plug fitted.

5) And the last query.....is it worth doing or should I just do the potentiometer setting & leave well alone.?

Cheers

Mike

I have the same can on my 1100, I tried the bike without the CCp but it was sooty around the back end and felt too rich, I replaced the CCp and borrowed a CO meter to set the mixture (It was still rich) I never had a chip with the used Laser though, if you want to replicate the Beige CCp heres a picture showing where you need to plug in your jumper wire.

I have a Lazor silencer and chip on my 1100. Fitted both a few years back.

Ran just fine from when it was installed, never had to make adjustments to anything. Removed the motronic unit, seem to remember having to buy a security kit for the fasteners, anyhow, removed the fasteners, cut the seal and simply removed the old chip and replaced it with the new one.
Stuck some silicone sealer around the join and put it back together.

Nice crisp sound, and a massive increase in performance. :augie

The sound bits true, but the real improvement was in the mid range, say, dropping down to fourth to pass something, much sharper and quicker. Fuel use stayed the same, mixture is still spot on.

Oh, and I almost forgot the most important part.

Hide your sweeties in the tool kit. :rob
