"Not true at all"....Think you mean you disagree! BUT if you put ALL your climbing gear in your top box "ether tin box or Vario" and a helmet, all I can say is you have a very small helmet

My very small helmet doesn't go in my top box when I'm riding!

My Neotec with the SHO1 doesn't fit the standard box even with nowt in it, its shite......

In addition to the BMW metal side panniers I fitted a Givi 56 liter box to my GSA ...works really well..and fits 2 helmets comfortably and looks great. Cheaper than BMW (obviously) but still very well made

Personally I don't want something half the size of a telephone box on the back of my GS, just sayin'.

Blimey , that's a bit sharp . Some folks can carry their own lids , and the new box is bigger than the old one , .
Try a big plate an the back and nail a shed on it , room for a clock room as well lol
