LC Mirrors

Thanks Keith.....l like the look.

Think I will take the plunge and source a set for my 1200.

So if I get the copies from abroad, I also need the thread adapters?

And what are the mirror socket covers? Is that the rubber sleeves that cover the bottoms?

IMHO, they do give a sleaker look, and the field of vision is good.

The mirrors I bought are non OEM; if you do a search on e-bay/google for mirrors for F800GS / 1200 LC / Aprilia Tuono then they will be fine, unless you're precious about absolutely having OEM items.

I bought the mount adaptors separately on e-bay (as per link in previous post on the thread), and they took 1 week to arrive, and the build quality is v good....£4.90 delivered!!!

The mirror socket covers - you're spot on, they're the rubber sleeves; on my 1200, they're narrow @ the top and wider @ the bottom which is fine with the original mirror mounts; however, with the mount adaptors & the lock nut on the new mirrors, these fittings are a little wider, so the mirror socket covers I'll source are for the F800GS (£12 from Motorworks for a pair), or have a search on e bay....:D as the dimensions of these socket covers are better suited.

Hope this helps.....:D

old round ones for sale?

If anyone wants to sell their old round mirrors to fit a 2009 1200 GS and they are unmarked I would be interested. Sorry if posted in wrong place but very pertinent to this thread.

Cheers
Harry

The last set of aftermarket mirrors I bought (admittedly some years ago) had a rubbish field of view. The glass was convex but still too flat for my liking.

Quick bit of feedback on the mirrors.....excellent field of vision, no vibration @ all and look much better than the roundies........:D

mirrors

had a seat on a lot of bikes at the scottish bike show yesterday, most of them had shite mirrors compared to my oe 09gs ones. incidentally since getting a new knee the only comfy bikes compared to my gs were the versys/vstrom models.:(

Call me old fashioned but I actually don't prefer the LC mirrors, they are one of several things that put me off the LC models. I think the Hexhead GSA will be with me for a while yet
