Le Mans to Berlin and a bit beyond

An old favourite T-shirt today:

Getting on for 30 years old and still going strong.

The Williams cap is new though, bought for me by a friend of mine. Last year, at the same Spa event, I lost my old Williams hat, year 2000 vintage. It had done stout service and had faded away from its old royal blue. Sad, but maybe Spa was apt for its final resting place. If the new one lasts as long, I’ll be in my mid-90’s!

Have you lost weight lately Richard or is it the effect of your selfie camera?

Ooops!

Beached at La Source.

He was lucky and unlucky. He span, other close following cars avoided him and the back wheels ended up just in the gravel. No way out of that. Last lap, too. A DNF as a reward! A cruel sport, in many ways.

I have.

A month away has done it. Outside of meeting up with the troops at Le Mans for a few days, I’ve actually drunk pretty little on my own, as I am not really a ‘solo drinker’. Bicycling (all be it with electrical power) and it being too hot to eat much beyond a homemade sandwich….

Peanuts, on the other hand. It’s important to keep the salt levels up. Full of fibrous goodness, too….. I think!

Excellent! Well done!!!
No doubt you are feeling better for it too.

Via a search on Google, I have found a lot more information. I have lifted it via Google translate from a German website:

The website carries a picture of one of the sites, which matches my own:

Thanks very much for this. 👏. Speechless.

Superb view from the grandstand! :thumb2

Bollocks to the temperature though! :nono

Well done with the weight loss too. :thumb2 Since February I’ve lost just over 3 stone! I needed to. Another couple to go though. :blast I was a bit of a chunk. :D

It is, isn’t it.

All the grandstands are free, included in the general entry price. This includes the temporary stands, that are in place for the GP.

Due to its elevation changes, the track lends itself to viewing and, unusually for a GP circuit, most of the track is accessible on foot, with only a relatively small section that is not accessible…. Believe me, we’ve tried.

The circuit was going to be dropped from the GP calendar, which prompted a massive investment from the local community, creating one of the best (if not the best) circuits in the world for drivers and spectators alike.
