Following a minor off-et in the Pyrenees my left hand pannier kissed my topbox.:kissy2

Yesterday's deluge proves neither are now waterproof, the RH pannier is still.

I think the lids are slightly twisted (not v obvious), there are no obvious cracks/ holes.

Is there a clever way to reinforce the seal? (bathroom sealant or summat?)

thanks for advice

Simon

p.s. ball bearings keep appearing at the bottom of the pannier! What's going on there then?

and yes I know metal mule are better but I cannot justify the £1k it would cost, even though I have tried ;)

May have a try, but it is very not obvious, though I guess reversing the direction of force of impact may help - they close with no problem at present.

Just a thought, are the left / right / topbox lids the same size? If they are then swapping them over might show what's wrong on the leaky ones. Maybe. :o

It may be worth taking the slightly bent lids off and placing them on a flat surface (Patio door?) To see which corner is high.
