LED Headlamp

[Hoff]

I am looking into fitting a LED headlamp unit, not just bulbs, onto my 2008 F650GS.
I have watched several U tube videos and the process seems easy but there is no mention of possible can bus errors.
I know I have to fit an EU legal unit so it will pass the MOT but am wondering if anybody has fitted one and if so were there any problems?

Im sure there was a thread on here using an Aliexpress complete unit that when installed didnt error. Have a good look through led threads on here

Mornng All

I've ordered myelf an LED headlight from the bay and I've just tried to fit it.

When the ignition is turned on, the surround LED bulb (red line) doesn't light, but once the engine is running, the main beam lights, and the high beam works fine but the dash shows a LAMP warning....

Has anyone else had any success with these LED units or have I bought a baddun' ?

I recently used doctor light to upgrade the headlight unit for my 1150GSA

Cannot recommend enough. A bit pricey especially with the import charges but well worth it. Quality of work is outstanding and the result is excelllent.

I've done on eof the aliexpress unit - superb, compared to original. Easy as pie to change, no errors.

There are three "generations" of LED headlight available from Ali and other vendors.

The best of the three is the one made by MorSun Technology. It is the one that looks like it has parentheses around the low beam. It will not generate an error and is very well constructed.

And BTW CAN bus has nothing to do with the error. That's a popular misconception. It's the ZFE controller that manages the electrics.
