Fitted some new Spotlight LED's(aux)to a friends 2010 gs all working fine but! When I switched the ignition on one of the leds started to flash thinking it was a loose connection I turned it off checked everything.turned it back on and that light started working.and the other then started flashing??
Confused I turned them off and on again and they started working perfectly
So I tried one last time and the whole thing started again
The left flashed.turned it off and on the right flashed.turned it off and on, then again they both worked??
If any of that makes sense does anyone have ideas why it's happening??
Cheers in advance guys

If they came from Ebay and were made in china, you have three functions in the light or psooibly just two. Flash, low and high power.
Each is chosen by turning the light on and off. There is no way to disable the modes just do as I did and send them back.
I was told by the seller that they are cycle light units made up to be spotlights.
They are also sold on Amazon, dont touch them.

hi.low strobe...but if you don't want to send them back there is a hack to remove all modes except hi...
go on you tube and look for u5 cree hack..or stop strobe....I did it and it worked...

Mine do this. I synchronised them and accept that they will flask sometimes. Mine are only as backup to main beam so the flashing is no problem. If they were to replace the OEM spots (aka auxiliary headlights) they would be (a) too bright on any setting and (b) too narrow angle enough to be useful as daylights.

Edit The fix to solder across two connections in the U2 chip looks simple enough. I'll give that a try.

On full power these lights give a VERY long range beam. Well worth a try at about £20 a pair.

The headlight can be set for the ideal dip beam position with the LEDs boosting the now compromised main beam. The angel eye version will give daylighting and main beam backup.

When you remove the IC and bridge the contacts each side you may well have to solder a resistor in place.
Loads of info on google, I purchased a pair a while ago for my airhead and will modify them before fitting.

Just wire them off a switched relay, I used the sat nav wire under the clocks as the trigger this way when you turn ignition off you still the canbus delay for a short time so you can have follow me home lights and they turn off auto after 60 secs,

The lights in question go through a loop each time they are switched on - bright - dim - strobe.
The mod is necessary so that you switch them off and on once and not three times to go through the sequence.
Hence the need to remove the control chip.

Sorry to be dim.
Do we remove the whole U2 chip as the Goldwing rider did. Or do we just solder the two contacts?
Does it matter?
