My left switch cluster has stopped working. No idea why. Called out BMW who sent out a fella. But because he's restricted in what he can do he couldn't find the fault.

Fortunate the dealer isn't far away so a few hand signals will get me there.

My bike is my only transport so I'm hopping they will have a courtesy bike available.

One was done at 1st service the other was while you wait, think it was about an hour didn't really notice as having a coffee and a chat!

if they have them in stock it is a quick job.

Sadly they don't have one in stock. The service fella was honest about it through and did admit there was a problem with that switch cluster.

I'm taking over to Wolverhampton later on. I'll be taking a loaner 800GS for a day.

That's bad luck. Considering they have been a problem since the bike came out you would think it would be a stock item at ALL dealers:blast

Turned out he did have one in stock from a cancelled order but I got there too late to get it fitted. I asked if they had modified the part and he said it had. Further, he said that an instruction from BMW required the dealer to change both switch clusters even if only one was found to be faulty.

So I rode home in the rain on an F800GT and sorry but I had the little sodding thing. Cramped up like a jocky on a horse. Buzzy fart of an engine and why has it got a steering damper!

Anyway if I can get away from work I'll get mine back tomorrow.

Just had mine replaced after 10,000 miles...the info button was sticking down.

They ended up installing the version with a fog/high beam switch so I got a free upgrade in that respect.
