LEJOG on a bicycle

Mate in my cycling club did it in 5 days. He is mad though. More than 3 big days riding is too much for me. Chapeau to anyone who completes LEJoG
We met a guy who had completed LEJOG a number of times in nine days. He said it was brutal and had seen nowt, so was planning a three week trip next time. We saw what we wanted and felt 18 days was right for us.

Check out : MTB EPICS UK
lots of off roads routes to download for free.
LEJOG off road
Smoke ring [ circumnavigation of London]
Beeline [ circumnavigation of Manchester]
Cotswold
100 , 200 or 300,
Bullring [ circumnavigation Birmingham]
These are mainly multi day routes although some go for the FKT. These routes are over 200 miles and some riders have completed them in less than 19hrs. I prefer to camp eat and drink beer.
Thanks, will do.

Wise. When I normally go out for a ride, I'm solo (or have been fr the last 3.5 yrs, living in the middle of nowehere, France) so I simply ride, 2hrs, 3hrs or whatever....and get home. I did much thinking about how I was NOT going to simply ride on my LEJoG, I wanted to stop and have a coffee, stop and have a natter, maybe just sit down in the sun, or shade etc. It was very easy to drop into that way of travel, even riding it solo. Provided 2 or more doing it together have discussed it prior to setting off, it should be a doddle to really enjoy all that is available....the ride, the scenery, the people, cafe stops etc etc.

A couple in our Welsh group are retired doctors. They had two ambitions, learn a new language and cycle LEJOG. They took 27 days and loved every minute. Ride day 1 rest / look around day 2 , ride day 3 etc. They described it as a fantastic holiday , certainly not a not a nine day endurance.
