Hi all,

I've reached the end of my ability as far as noise diagnostics go...

The noise is a fairly constant tapping(louder than 'normal' valve noise) coming from the LHS head area

So far the following can be ruled out...
Cam chain - put a new tensioner in(RCR version)
Valve clearance & rocker end float done as per Clymer/Haynes/Steptoe combination instructions...
New 20-50 mineral oil, previously had synthetic water in the bike
Throttlebodies rebuilt

Also I should point out then when I did the valve clearances the exhaust valves were set really tight, almost as if they were done at 3 thou rather than 0.3mm

Any suggestions will be much appreciated...

Cheers,
Nic

Nope, have tried it under speed/acceleration combinations and it stays pretty constant volume wise

Check that your problem isn't post 6 in THIS thread.

Cheers, will have to take a closer look when I next get a little free time, in the mean time would I be making a mistake if I continued to ride and politely ignored the ticking noise?
