Went to leave the office yesterday on the bike and noticed it was still dark after I turned the ignitiion key to the on position.

I have one of them old-fangled 1150s with a light switch so I checked that, still no side or dip.

I had HID's fitted on dip & main and no spares of any of that clobber.

I did not in my haste check main beam as I took a lift home and left the bike there.

So where does a technical numpty like me start his diagnosis?

I have dash lights when I turn the lights on other than that what you read above is all I know and all I've done and the bike is at work and I am not. :blast

I have a new fangled 1200 so can't help to much. Doesn't the old 1150 have strange things such as fuses that break - might be one of those but I don't know if dip and sidelights are on the same circuit doubt it. Is your battery OK - might have enough juice for the clocks but nothing else? Did you try starting the engine?

Otherwise check connections, cables etc. Sorry can't help otherwise. Good luck!

if there's a separate fuse for high beam, and another for dip/sidelights, it might be that, otherwise it must be the switch or the wiring.

time to get the multi meter out :)

Same fuse for both (4amp)

There is a second fuse in the lighting circuit, but that is for the two brake light switches so won't be involved.

It's fuse no.2, the second one in from the corner of the widest part of the fuse box.

Does the bike start?
Could be fuse #2, switch at bars, ignition switch or maybe voltage dumping relay stuck, or wiring in-between any of those elements.

As Cookie says, time to take a multimeter to the system....start at fuse in box (easiest to find) then follow back :thumb2

PS I'm glad you had to wait.....it'll teach you to post in the right section, not the 1200 section, the Equipment and toys section or the frigging pub :blast

Wapping's going to have a field day on yo'ass when he sees this :D

Sections don't mean jack shit these days, fcuk it I needed answers and I won't wait around for an answer.

Wapping? Let him do his worst, I'll play with it for a while and when I'm bored I'll take his fuse out, some things I'm shit at, others I'm not :P

F2 is for only the side light/parking light and tail light.

Is the coffee machine working?
