Took delivery of my bike on saturday, sheepishly handed over my Honda in part ex and not looked back since.

The bike has the factory alarm fitted which when activated causes a little red led to flash on the facia. The led is housed in the same place as the light sensor.

When the bike is switched off and the alarm is not activated the little red light is constantly glowing in the background.

Does nayone know if it should be doing this?

Hi

When my BMW alarm is off, light is off. Just checked it in the dark garage.

I have the BMW alarm fitted - according to my instruction manual the only time the LED is always ON is during a "programming stage" or when "registering" a (new) remote.

In normal operation mine is never always lit.

Hi,

Can also confirm that when alarm is off the red light should also be off.

But, can someone advise when the alarm actually goes off? I've tried rocking it for example but not a peep. The alarm on my Suzuki GS500 would go off if the dogs jumped on it..or I even nudged it!

Thanks!

Pushing it off the main stand works for me - although it once went off when I leant over the seat to chain it to the ground anchor - it seems to be unaffected by "nudges"

When a wheel is turning.
I accidently set it off when I forgot to turn the alarm off one morning. When I rolled it off the centerstand...BEEP-BEEP!.....(at 0600 in the morning). :P
I shut it off with the remote control. Then i turned on the ignition, and it beeped again, to tell you that it has been triggered since last time the ignition was on (ah, RTFM ;) )

If you have pressed the activation button twice then it is activated in the "transit" mode i.e. the motion sensor is de-activated. Have a read through the alarm manual and it tells you everything in there.

Have Fun

How do you set the auto arming feature?

Hi

Does anyone know how to set the auto arming feature of the alarm - I find I am always forgetting to set it. I have tried to follow the instructions in the manual and it didn't seem to make any difference?

Try following the instructions again. It took me a couple of attempts to get it right, but the bike is now auto-arming.

Mike_swe - are you saying that the motion sensor in the BMW alarm is actually just a wheel rotation sensor? So the bike could be picked up into the back of a van, or even knocked over, without the alarm sounding?
