Have you approached them for a possible exchange? It’s free(ish) to ask.
I recall contacting Lightwave about obtaining the standard flysheet to go with my extended porch version of the Trek 2, which they claimed to be a "modular tent".
This would shorten the tent, lose a pole and drop it's bulk a couple of dress sizes.
The quote for the flysheet ( which they couldn't even supply) was the same price as a full tent.
I challenged the price and received an email from the CEO of Lightwave (a bloke called Carol) lecturing me on tent production costs.
I do remember him stating a good silicone coated flysheet is 75 - 80% of the cost of a tent.
I sort of went down that route by first buying a Hilleberg Nammaj 3, and then a Nammatj 3 GT.
So now I have a lifetimes worth of inners, poles, fly's, pegs, bags, and a truly interchangeable "modular" setup.
I think what I'm saying here is just buy another tent, giving loads of spares and options.
