I used to drive like that everywhere, always on the throttle and caning it all over the place, used to think that the "near misses" where all part of the fun, enjoying the "rush" so to speak.
still drove that way when some doris pulled out in fron tof me 4 years ago and put me in intensive care for 4 weeks and intubated for 3, kinda changed my riding after that.
not saying that you need to have an accident to change your riding, just try anf think, what ig? what if that driver does this, or that driver does that?
also think of you loved ones, sure you wouldnt want them sat by your bed waiting for you to wake up and seeing you in pain, i know i would want to put any of my family and friends through that again, so i drive alot slower and am way more catious than before.
i still open the tabs though, but only when i know i can get away with it, ive have also done bike safe and other courses and a few of my mates that ride are coppers so im always asking questions and advice and this helps no end.
just be carful and listen to the voice at the back of your mind saying "what if?" and try and ignore that one that says "go for it! dribve like a c**t!"
wont stop you from haiving fun! after all, i still ride bikes and im still loving it! al though just at a slowere pace (and i ride a tricked up bandit 1250!)
