I have a 1999 K1200LTand have been thinking of an part exchange against a new 1150 adventure.....the main reason being that I dont get out on the 1200 as much as I like this last year, due to its size.
Had a test driveon a second hand 1150 and it was ok but both bikes are so different,I liked the power and the how the bike handled but it felt strange like riding with nothing in front of you just a small screen.
So at the moment its shall i or shall I not.........hmmmmmmmm...still will read up everthing about the 1150 and maybe a second test drive see how it goes Stewart

Hi Stewart... Go for it! you won't regret it (IMHO) :moped:

First bike (1150) ive managed to keep for more than a year.. and I reckon I've had 37 bikes since 1978........ Bryn

And just think of all the P##s taking you can do on this forum. :D

adv

Had a 1100 gs, bought a 04 adv Wed 23Dec go for it great machine.

Hi Stewart
I did it :)
My riding habits changed so the K1200lt
had to go,
wanted a 1150rt but no one wanted to buy
the 1200, ended up doing a part ex for a 1150 GS
had it for three years,
now thinking about a 1200 ;)

Hi Stewart, i went from a K1100LT to an R1100GS and i love it, the handling is the bit i enjoy most, i test rode an ADV from my local dealers when i still had the K, and i could'nt believe how at home i felt on an unfamiliar bike.
BRYN, you lieing toerag, it's more like 137 bikes since 1978!
Hooked on a GS now though, bet DVLA are pleased:D
Cheers and Happy New Year to all.
Brian.

Reyno said it just right - I couldn't believe how comfortable and "at home" I felt on the GS. I have a 2002 LT and a 2004 GS Adv and love 'em both. The first few hundred miles on the GS were something else - *I* was getting pushed around by the wind instead of the bike being pushed around as I was used to on the LT.

Hard to say, but I'd say if you can have two, both would be awesome. I've got 40k miles on the LT in the last couple of years. 2.5k miles on the GS in the last two weeks - I'd strongly lean towards keeping the GS if I could only have one.

I know, I know, you're asking the question in a GS forum... so take it with a grain of salt.

:)

Go for a ride on a CBR600RR, now that really feels like you've got 'nothing in front of you'. Then go an have another ride on GS, it'll feel more like your LT:)
