Looking for a 2nd bike

Bagpuss, I have a VFR750 as well as my R100GS. I`ve had the VFR for 5 years and 38000 miles, it has never let me down yet, the exhaust will need replacing soon but its been on the bike for 11 years.... as for boring , well I certainly don`t think that!

Hey streaky, which model is the Suziki? I followed one yesterday to a roundabout and it sounded fantastic, quite like a Ducati.... is it one of these? What engine size etc?

Looks like an SV650 - unsurprisingly 650cc. Nice bikes from all I've heard. My business partner keeps banging on about getting one...

I recently broke a self-imposed rule not to own two bikes again (I was always convinced within ten miles that I'd have been better off taking whichever one I'd left behind :o ).

This time I bought something that doesn't really compete with my Adventure. It's another GS, a 650 (courtesy of Bryn :thumb ).

Whilst it's fun and a far more capable bike than my memories of an early Funduro led me to believe, it is different enough not to enter the equation when making a choice of what to ride.

Yesterday I had the first occasion to ride them back-to-back. Adv, then 650 then Adv again.

After the Adv. I really didn't enjoy riding the 650 and was grinning like the proverbial Cheshire Cat when I got back on the Adv.

If I ride the 650 after not riding the Adv. for a while, I really enjoy it.

What I'm trying to say (in my usual rambling way) is that I think you need to decide which is your principal bike and make sure that any second machine is always second-best otherwise that way confusion lies (well it does for me anyway!)

HI steves right its TL1000 SX,99 MODEL,real fun bike!!!!sounds great,cheers Thomas. :thumb

I've got a CBR 1000 Fm for sale with luggage on ebay right now. Look for the one with 9 days to go and a 5000 word essay for the description.

However, I have also owned and loved a TL 1000S which looked exactly like the one above only with Micron Ovals on it (mmmm load cans mmmmm...) Sorry, I've just dribbled on the keyboard. I miss it lots and would happily buy another if I had the funds for the funs! Best motor ever, looked good, but expensive on tyres and very thirsty. I wouldn't criticise you for that choice although I might start stalking you...

how about an 05 Yamaha FZ6 in silver? ive got one of these for sale! :bounce1

Aren't the TL's well known for being a bit of a tank slappy beast to ride? However if they have a magic v twin noise I put up with the occaisional hedge bottom ;)

As a second bike personally, I would opt for a either a Bandit 6 or a Hornet 6. Both these bikes are cheap to run and good fun, as well as being great for commuting!

OOoooh, handbags! Wots wrong wiv my nekked FZ6 then Dirtydog? ! :)
