Guys

Looking for a new race inspired project bike and fancy a R mono, ideal bike would be 1000cc have spoke wheels and potentailly need some work but would consider any options.

Please form an orderly line.....

Yep spokes and monos - not a standard configuration. Unless of course, you want to hack a poor G/S about........:green gri

Thanks for those realistic words....depressing as they may be, however I have found said example over the weekend but it was a bit pricey for my plans, so they do exist, must have found unobtainium...........

I assumed that all the early ones came with spokes ? clearly not.

Any more info / bikes please keep the me posted.

There is an article on advrider where one of the guys machines a paralever GS wheel to fit the standard monolever bevel box but this would give you a cross spoked wheel instead of a conventional spoke pattern.

It was the twin shock bikes that came with spoked wheels. There's nothing stopping you fitting a twin shock swinging arm into mono frame.

Hi Rob thanks for the info, great minds think alike as i was reading this artical over the weekend, I actually wanted to keep the mono swingarm but just fancied the spoke wheels.

Did you have any idea on price for the bike i mentioned or similar ?

I'm out of touch with prices I'm afraid. I think most of the monos have been chopped up for projects/customising or as engine/gearbox doners.

Rob

Love the cafe racer

The bike i found purports to be a R100R guess i may find out more if the owner gets back to me.......

I forgot about the R100R (Classic and Mystic).... spoked wheels, late model, never popular for some reason (but I like them)

Good basis for a cafe racer/flat tracker/hipster bike or whatever you decide to do, I think.

Keep us updated with pictures of the build.....

Well my confession is I thought the single shock model was call the mono :) turns out and Rob has also pointed out what I was actually after was a paralever - guess i need to do some more studying..... Anyway spoke to the owner and may go an have a look at the weekend - trying not to go to the bank and take folding as you just know what's going to happen, even spoke to RM who kindly gave me a history lesson on the model differences and happen to talk about engine refreshes................Huston I may have a problem.

So now I have been offically educated on the differences between a Mono and Paralever - I will be the proud owner of a R100R this Sunday if it all goes to plan.
Its going to be another project bike and the purists may need to look away...... so a new build thread is in order and hope to start this soon.

Good bike is the R100R....either immaculate or cut the bugger up for a project ! :beerjug:
