Looks like the GS1300 is happening?

Buy a Multistrada and put us out of our misery….
MOTORRAD and 1000PS.at ran a few spy pictures and stories about the all new GS...Still in the speculative state but a few things are already clear.
- the new GS will be introduced to the public autumn 22 , 10 years after the then all new 30% watercooled GS 1200 LC
- the engine will be 100 % water-cooled
- Telelever instead of fork !!!
- the frame will consist of aluminum cast pieces to safe weight & money
The bike looks smaller which is a good thing and the covered valve covers could mean that the shift-cam might be upgraded to 3 cam lobes or shiftcam on both sides , intake and exhaust.
BMW trademarket R1300GS,M1300GS and R1400GS !
Which means more displacement for more power and TORQUE :thumby:
The bike might be quieter because it will be EU-5.2 ready whatever this means which is not good...Hopefully Akrapovic comes to the rescue with a dual-mode exhaust where the rider can decide if he wants fully open or appease the idiots quiet...
Otherwise it is still unclear how much more power we get , what the wait-savings will be and what M1300GS will mean; S1000XR with Telelever and driveshaft or 1290 SADV-R ?
The future looks good !
If I can order a la carte I take a 1400 GS with 17" C-F wheels , lower narrower handlebar and same size hardbags:thumb
It also looks like the next boxer generation might get different power ratings to leave room for the M and 1400 cc variants...Maybe a R1400S or M1300S is also in the cards...I got another 10 years where I would love to run a modern version of the R1100S for all it's worth :thumby:
Boxercup 2 would be much more interesting as part of the MotoGP spectacle than these boring Moto 2 & 3 races !
Win on sunday , sell on monday ;)

Why not 1400 ? 700 cc per cylinder is pretty much the optimal capacity for naturally aspirated power...165 hp @ 8500 rpm & 155 nm @ 6000 rpm with 1000 rpm overrev-reserve sounds realistic and would make for the perfect ROAD going motorcycle powerpant ! But 1300 cc and now 100 % water-cooling already means more power and ability to keep things cool :thumb2 Compared to the 1250 the new bike looks more compact and smaller which is also very good ! I hope the base 1300 will start at 150hp/nm and go up from there for the M or even S-Boxer version if they surprise us with one because none of the successors R1200S,HP2-S,R1200/1250RS were really as good in the sum of their parts or experience as the R1100S was...A modern R1100S would be awesome :thumby:
As todays superbikes really have no business being on the streets and make only sense to be ridden on the track.
But a good looking and practical Sportboxer would still have market relevance for people who don't want a bike as upright as a GS or a XR !
Who knows if they surprise us with something like that like they did in 1998 with the R1100S...

Twizzle before I buy a Multistrada or 1290 SADV-S I'll buy a S1000XR ! Faster,lighter,17" front wheel and just as practical or impractical with fork and chain...:D
I think the R1300/1400GS will kill the lust for bikes like these for good !

You know what the best thing about the Boxercup races and the R1100S was ? They had all kinds of interesting racers who competed on the same bikes and it was close racing and down to the rider and rider only...As for the R1100S 20 years ago it was a sportbike unlike any other.Very good looking, full of character and very capable on twisty pavement and still practical and comfy enough for everyday riding or the yearly holiday trip only held back on the straights by the lack of hp...Of course you could argue a GS or XR can do the same but both lack the good looks or the seating position a modern R1300S or M1400S :thumb could have :thumby:
But the first pictures of the new R1300/1400GS already look promising that BMW is honing a already good product making it better.
More power, less weight and keeping it affordable with the cast pieces for the frame !
The rest is still hidden under all the covers but I'm sure it will be all new like the GS-LC was all new in october 2012 replacing the air-oilcooled 1200 GS that had been on the market since 2004...10 years by then had been a good run ! When the GS gets lighter and offers Ducati/KTM topend power while already offer more Torque it will be interesting if Italy/Austria will go shaftdrive to stay relevant ?
But who cares as I really would never ride anything but a boxer for obvious reasons not to loose a leg in case of a mishap not being the least important one...;)

After another great ride out yesterday , i will welcome the extra power as the bike needs more as I was thrashing the gods out of mine , i swear to god its gonna blow up soon , so a more power full engine will be better ( for me) more torque as well . The chassis can cope with it easily .
Some will hate the above comment but I think it valid as other manufactures make more power but not the handling . This ride out was with 3 BMs , 1 990 Ktm SM and a new 1290s , the BM was again the best bike out there , to be fair the 990 sm was closer than the 1290s on the technical stuff but the rider was one of my Spain riders.

Stick I am with you brother ! Took my bike out too after the brake swap from Hayes to Brembos but haven't put the Tractive shocks on yet since the steering dampener has not come in.And yes with more top-end the GS would be even more fun ! XR top-end & 150 nm TORQUE !
Winjar the origional article in MOTORRAD stated that everything is possible and trademarked between 1300 and 1400 cc !
I'm thinking 150-155 hp/Nm is probably a realistic baseline for the 1300 GS which leaves some room for the M and R1400 variants :thumby:
The new generation boxers will be advancing the game like the current generation LC boxers did in autumn 2012...Will be interesting to see if they bring XR and S variants also as the RT is a given supplying Police forces all over the world.
R and RS especially with the fork I'm not so sure as the T-L GS outsells both by a huge margin for obvious reason !
And off road who really goes off-road with these expensive bikes.Even a 1290 KTM is way too big and heavy for going off road.So why deal with the shortcomings of a 21" front wheel and long travel fork on the road ?

Fcuk Me!

It’s like a case of Long Boxerlust…..it just goes on and on….and on!

Im not to bothered about the higher speed to be fair , i would just like to get to high speed quicker with less of pinning it all the time , the KTM has loads of grunt so around there would be nice , im not interested in plus 140 , the gs is fast enough , just needs more go at certain points where the KTM surpasses , the Gs however can handle the extra power , the others seem to spend more time on power out put rather than making a chassis that can deliver that power to the tarmac , the BM can do that already with room to spare , the others seem to struggle with the concept of build a great chassis them add power.. simples.

He makes more sense than some of the tossers on here at times with their blinkered and conservative views , pipe and slipper club lol.... Boxerlust make some good points that are relative , read between the lines, I do. Others seem to get stuck in the rut of abuse , he is allowed his points wether you or others like it or not.

It might be a mini boxer 800cc, and that is the reason the cylinders are covered, because they are smaller. I also cant see the telelever on the photos.

Hope i'am wrong, unless the mini boxer has: telelever, 125Hp, 150nm, and 180kgs. :)

Dream on. They have to sell the bike in the US, imagine a 6 foot+ 250pounds meat of human on something smaller than the present GS. However I would like something like that. After I had a 100RT few years ago I wonder what is this power chase all about.

Stick I think a S1000XR is fast enough to be fun ! It is faster than a 1290 KTM or Multistrada V4 but slower than a S1000RR which really only can be used on the track and then maybe by 10% of the people with enough talent who have honed their riding skills over many seasons. So Zero to 125 below 9 seconds and 155/160 mph top-speed with bags would be perfect...IMHO A lower handlebar to be able to hang-off and a 17" front to be able to run M9RR would be beneficial to for the M or XR version however they call it.The current 1250 is really strong and stronger than a MS V4 or 1290 KTM up to 7000 rpm.If the new motor keeps the coals on for another 2000 rpm all is good :thumby:
Sergio it is definitely no mini boxer. The cylinders are covered as also the frame has fake tubes and there is a Telelever...Thank god !
Probably Double shiftcam on intake and exhaust but this is just a guess.
Nobody would buy a 800-900 cc boxer that theoretically would be better off-road but 95% of the bikes never see off-road and the bike would be just as expensive to produce as a 1300-1400 cc boxer.Makes no economic sense.
But going from 30% to 100% water-cooling tells me that the new engine will finally make some POWER :thumb2
Like what I see so far (smaller, lighter more CC for more POwer) and a clear statement from BMW that I.C.E. is the past and the FUTURE :thumby: No Live Wire here or a 1250 Pandemic that advertises 152 and only delivers 143 ponies and a paltry 118 nm torque...

Telelever is there you can see the fork clamps in the same position as the other GS in the shots . Also the engine (front) pivot is showing as well , they would not go to forks . Also 800cc buzz motor , no , more cc , smoother etc etc.

If this rumour becomes reality, I’m definitely having one.
