Why not 1400 ? 700 cc per cylinder is pretty much the optimal capacity for naturally aspirated power...165 hp @ 8500 rpm & 155 nm @ 6000 rpm with 1000 rpm overrev-reserve sounds realistic and would make for the perfect ROAD going motorcycle powerpant ! But 1300 cc and now 100 % water-cooling already means more power and ability to keep things cool

Compared to the 1250 the new bike looks more compact and smaller which is also very good ! I hope the base 1300 will start at 150hp/nm and go up from there for the M or even S-Boxer version if they surprise us with one because none of the successors R1200S,HP2-S,R1200/1250RS were really as good in the sum of their parts or experience as the R1100S was...A modern R1100S would be awesome

As todays superbikes really have no business being on the streets and make only sense to be ridden on the track.
But a good looking and practical Sportboxer would still have market relevance for people who don't want a bike as upright as a GS or a XR !
Who knows if they surprise us with something like that like they did in 1998 with the R1100S...
