I never turned anything down and was just waiting for my new bike
I'm staggered that it got from you being offered another bike, you accepting their offer to all out warfare in a few weeks.
Or there was some confusion and they didn't offer it - nothing in writing if I remember correctly. Maybe the dealer made a mistake?
I found them reasonable when they changed my engine due to corrosion - here's why.
a) It was an approved bike - which specifically excludes corrosion.
b) I only had to send a few photo's.
c) Yes, I had to pay 50% of the labour costs - worth it in my mind for the benefit of a later engine/gearbox. 600 mile service included.
d) A fresh 2 year warranty, including corrosion!
e) It put back the next service requirement by 5,000 miles as one was due shortly before the change - they did confirm.
I approached them asking for help and acknowledging that I had no warranty claim, they responded in a way that you would hope. In this instance I can't fault them.
I would feel peeved if I had bought a new bike (no chance to road test beforehand), but it does sound as though you may be better off eating a bit of humble pie to get it sorted and enjoy it while you can.
Life is short.
