Lost my bike key and the alarm fob today - bugger.

Doing an IAM training run this morning, stop at McD's for a debrief (Target roundabout on the A40). Park my bike and chuck keys in my helmet. 30 mins later come back out to bike, can't find my keys. Retrace steps, ask at the McD's etc - no sign. Thankfully very close to home so missus drives over with spares.

How much is a spare key and an alarm plipper going to cost me? Should I get the locks changed, or is that just being paranoid? Not comfortable only having one key - might do the same again!!

Cheers

New key is about £45 I think .. needs to be ordered coded to bike obviously but only takes a couple of days as it's made in the UK rather than Germany. Alarm fob is a blank coded to your bike which can be done at the dealers.

As to whether you should get the locks changed - depends if you're going to be in the habit of frequenting McD's on the A40 ... If you're changing all the locks it needs the EWS box changed too which isn't going to be a cheap option.
