There seem to be quite a lot of BMW air cool GS's on ebay lately... i was just wonder the reason why?...:D

They're all too embarrassed to be associated with the whole GS scene...now:thumb

they are all buying the 800 adventure as the wasserhead gear selection traning program pass rates are so piss poor :hide

As you suggest there are loads of good R1200GS for sale now, my local dealer has over a dozen to choose from. That's the real problem for BMW, I have not seen any other make of bike being traded in for a new LC. Despite the very good reviews by every mag and web site it still seems to be mainly existing customers keeping to the brand. As the eldest generation die off or hang up their gortex very few young riders move up to take their place so the demand for second hand bikes starts to slow down. The high cost dealers are asking for s/hand bikes is also putting people off, I have seen a few high spec three year old low mileage twin cams with selling prices higher than a new base LC.

At last someone come up with a sensible/serious explanation, hehe thank you.

That's interesting what you are saying, as I p/e my May 2012 Honda NC700 for a new LC. And I'm not that old, still in early 30's hehe

But judging by what you are saying I understand that it appears to be just a matter of time for the prices of s/hand AC machines to drop in price. Hopefully this will be good as it might attract more riders to the GS market.

Its because the "loadsa money" GSers all trade in their one or two year old Hexhead to get the latest model. As they're loaded, they don't need to worry about residuals so calmly part ex their ride with the local dealer who'll then look after'em all right for the next 24 months. And so the circle of life continues. Don't worry, it'll all calm down in a month or so and normallity will return.

good on them its nice way to spend your hard earned corn

Do I get the feeling that the new Wasserhead group are are break-away rebel unit who up until March 2013 were attached to the Air-heads....perhaps as an undercover group but have now 'come out' and have discarded away their pipe and slippers disguises to show their true rebel colours?

I aint sold mine!

I`ve been lucky enough to keep my air cooled 2010 GSA and I`m chuffed coz I still love it to bits.

The LC is amazing but I think it might be a tadge unfair to forget the wonderful predecessors (and god knows if I`ve spelt that right!)

I agree with the above post.

and i'd add that I have bought my LC with the intention to keep it for life!

I traded a Triumph Daytona for my LC, so it is winning converts from other bikes. I'd tested the old GS's previously and avoided them due to their breathless anaemic performance and general crankiness, but finally BMW have got it right with performance handling and looks.

Oh and proper turn indicator switchgear at last ;-) icing on the cake!
