Luggage

had a call from rainbow to say my luggage (panniers) has arrived, its been over 12 weeks and ive bought alternative's..does anybody want them?

I've heared through the grapevine that the delay in parts has been due to the flooding in Germany.

Apparently, this has effected several parts suppliers, and BMW have something like 4,000 parts on back order. There are loads of component parts, but the assembly factory is still underwater.

So it's not down to BMW underestimating the need.

Not really bmws fault I reckon. Something like this can and does happen - remember the fire at triumph in Hinckley?

We've just got to be patient and wait for the parts.

GS Varios

Talked to my dealer when I ordered the bike, and he had assured me luggage was not an issue, as was stated earlier. the dealer had anticipated that about every 9 out of ten bikes would require luggage so they made a guesstimate of how many bikes bmw uk were gonna' give them this year, ordered in x sets of luggage and voila! new bike arrives tomorrow and I can have luggage if I so require, hey who said the irish were stupid!

Needless to say, Wayne didn't bother to ring me back so today I rang Pidcocks again. Fortunately, Wayne is now away on holiday so I was able to speak to Ryan, who does seem to have some idea what customer service is about, and he did ring me back within half an hour to give an update. The upshot is that Ryan has chased BMW and Pidcocks are now expecting a delivery of 2 right hand panniers on Tuesday, one of which is mine - the left hand one is already in stock with my name on it. So, hopefully that's a result. Hopefully.

I have excellent service from Ryan so far, in fact it could not have been better. I'm just hoping that he can soon come up with some panniers for my bike.

I am delighted to report that my panniers have arrived and both are now fitted with no problems. I would like to formally record my appreciation for the efforts by everyone at Pidcock’s to make them available for me in time for a long weekend away which is planned for next weekend.

However, I have been instructed by a member of staff at my local BMW dealer that I am to delete my posts [which were] numbered 34, 40, 68 and 69 on this thread. Unfortunately, the timeframe in which I can edit or delete my own posts has passed and I have therefore sent a message to the Moderator of this section to ask if they would do so on my behalf - which has now been done, thanks.

That's good news Ian:clap

There must be hope for me getting mine for my holiday in September then:rolleyes:

Ryan at Pidcocks rang me today to tell me that my panniers have arrived, I still cannot fault his service, which has been superb all of the way through the buying of my first BMW process!

Well done!

I'm very happy!
