Has anyone else used this firm?

Having an awful time trying to buy an exhaust system from them for my sons Bandit.. (wrong parts delivered, delay in sending return label.. delay in collecting return goods,) and just a sort of couldn't-care-less attitude.

Is this the norm.. or have I just been unlucky? :(

M & P

Muppets & Plonkers

Run away. Actually, crawl away. Judging by their reaction times to both orders I made they won't be less than a month behind you, and then they'll follow someone else by mistake.

I used to use them a lot when I had my Bandit, and never had any problems at all. That was 4 or 5 years ago though. Maybe a change in Management has changed their "customer focus".

About 15 years ago, they were the biz...they knew what fitted what, and knew what they had in stock.

Some time after that, they started going down the pan,and gradually went worse...wrong parts sent, taking orders and payment without parts being in stock resulting in anything up to 4-6 weeks wait, clueless muppets on the phone lines, etc, etc.

I seem to remember that they took over MPS (who were always excellent..friendly,helpful and a rapid postal delivery time),so perhaps they just got too big.......

Spot on Tarka

Everything wot Tarka just said. I gave up on them a few years ago.

Big up to Baglux though. The little spring loaded clip on my tankbag failed over the weekend, so I rang them at 3pm on Monday. The part was £1, so I ordered two. 50p P&P and the parcel arrived this side of the water Tuesday morning. Fast, polite service. Brilliant!!

Oh dear..

Looks like I might be in for a long wait..

Thanks for the replies.

MPS turned into Nippy Norman ( I believe after M&P bought MPS.......)

Now there is a wonderful supplier to do business with!

M&P took over MPS, but now MPS is back again from the Dorchester shop, but running pretty much the same stuff as M&P, but have been told they will stock some new lines that the others don't, you work it out

I ordered 2 sets of pads for my Kawasaki ZZR 1100 and a set of goodridge brake lines. I got 1 set of pads and no brake lines, the pads were wrong and I still have not got the brakelines after waiting nearly 8 weeks. I ordered online so why couldn't they have told me the stuff was not in stock ? complete waste of time I won't be using them again.

Phoned them again today to see what was happening..

Basically they didn't have a clue as to when I could expect delivery.. "Some time next week.. perhaps" the mind boggles, how do these people stay in business?

the story so far.
the chap who originally owned m&p sold up then started busters, m&p got into trouble and had a management buyout, then the original owner bought it back ...
it was a very mail order oriented buisness but due to the changes things have gone from bad to worse , hopefully the new old owner will get it all back together as soon as possible...

the shop in swansea is pretty good , and they have a cracking workshop complete with dyno.. hardly used, hope they make good use in the future..

Yeah they are starting to get better but if you want something off them and it's not in stock don't let them order it in for you if you can get it elsewhere do so as they take fooking ages

I wouldn't use M&P again Four times I ordered stuff from them and four times they got somthing wrong. This was over aperiod of several years and a couple of different addresses, they even managed to mess up an order from the NEC Bike show last year ,took months to sort out.Usually find my local retailer- Charlie Williams,Everything but bikes -to be just as competative price wise and usually quicker.
