Hi All, just changed over to a mac and getting used to it, also just changed my Internet provider just to make my life a little more complicated! anyway had set up folders to archive e-mails (on my mac) and looking yesterday it appeared they were duplicated so I deleted them:D of course they weren't:blast:blast:blast:blast duplicates. any idea if iI can restore them:nenau
John B,
p.s. other than my inherent stupidity aren't Macs great

I don't think that you can: once deleted, always deleted. Unless, that is, you set up Time machine when you bought and configured your mac. If you did that, you can easily find your deleted files there. Just go back through Time Machine until you reach a dated back-up which was BEFORE you deleted the files.

Hi , Thanks for answers, they were listed on the l hand side column where mailbox is, listed as my mac archive . I had made several folders to put e-mails in to relieve space in the in book, I thought they were duplicated below but it was a different set of folders! I haven't emptied any trash folfers as far as I'm aware Tho:nenau John B

if you use the spotlight function, it's the magnifying glass icon top right of the task bar top of the screen and put in the name or something that you know is in the emails it will list everything on your mac that has that word or title.

aren't they in the Mail Trash folder then?

as above post - Spotlight should find them.

if whoever you get your email from does webmail, and most do, it should still be there.
