Mac users / Mapsource

A friend of mine is thinking of switching to a Mac.

One question, please.

Does Mapsource / Garmin work well on a Mac?

Any issues / glitches / fixes he needs to be aware of?

mapsource does not work at all on a mac unless you install windows via bootcamp or virtual machine.

garmin make a mac alternative called RoadTrip. do a search here for that, there's been quite a bit of discussion of it.

it's very different from mapsource and originally i hated it and ran mapsource in a virtual machine, but now use roadtrip all the time. planned my whole recent swiss trip with it in fact and it all worked ok.

As Cookie says- I run Road Trip and actually prefer it to mapsource- sorted the Croatia 09 trip etc and no glitches once we were on the road
