Has anyone seen or tried the Magnum 80 horn by Stebel, looks like a direct fit for the oe horn and only draws 6 amp.
Would this mean no extra wiring in? (no relay) unlike the Nautilus.

It states it's 136 db and at £13.99 seems good value.

Where do they...........................

Hey Les

Where do they sell these Magnum 80 v Nautilus, I might be interested in getting some of these if they fit as a straight replacement.

Magnum 80

I couldn't find anyone who stocked 'em and you will need two.
The Nautilus is one bolt fitting, piece of cake.

The american web site www.micapeak.com/bmw/gs/gs.html lists numerous mods. They used to list the part number for the BMW police spec horns that were a vast improvement on the standard one but I have just looked and cannot find it there any more. They say there is a relay already insitu for the horn so one does not need to be fitted (but consider I am an electical/mechanical liability).

The 80 is listed in the Motor World catalogue next to the Nautilus, ( both made by Stebel ) you can fit one, which is about 4 inches in diameter or two which look slightly smaller diameter and are only 3 db louder, but the two do have a 12 amp rating.

They didn't stock 'em when I looked but at 80mm they are small enough to fit in the headstock on a U bracket, the nautilus is good though.

Rang Motor World today and they have stock, but wanted £8 postage for the Magnum, so went into the local car shop, and he had both horns in his Mountley catalogue, has ordered the magnum for me and its only £9.99. (£13.99 at Motor World)
The Nautilus is £19.99 from him.
I will post the results when I fit it.

Easier..

I think i will try to find a magnum 80 if it will go straight in without extra wiring..

I sometimes hit the horn when manouvering the beast about inside the garage and 140bd in a confne space may be painful. so the magnum may be a bit better..

Will see what i can find

cheers peeps..

Ring Motorcade in Congleton, ask for Pete, he has just order'd me a Magnum, 01260 271741.
If you ring soon he may be able to add it to the order and save you some postage.
