Costs more than an actual AirTag.
Worse chip (less range).

If one is that bothered just buy an AirTag and disable the speaker.

My understanding is that you no longer can remove the speaker in version 2?

I haven't looked into that.
Also, I got the price wrong: as their pack is for 2. So they are cheaper.

In all honestly. I wouldn't bother. Airtags and the "FindMy" network was never designed for the scope of tracking stolen items. So any solution is always a bodge.

I do have AirTags trackers hidden on both my GS and my car. Mostly to see the position of them my iPhone "almost-live".
I also have proper trackers on both.
